I'm a homeschooling mother of five. Four graduates and one to go. I have been married to my dear husband for 31 years this October. WoW! I love talking about home schooling, essential oils, growing your own garden and other things related to health. I'm a city girl living in the country. I love both lives.

Day 130- A Blood Clot, a New Investigator, and a Chicken Quesidilla-08-05-06

It’s now our lunch break. Elder Pierce and I just got back from the Senior Center. We were not able to go to A’s and L’s for lunch. A came to the center today to see us. “Boy, am I glad I caught you fellas before you came by,” he said. He told us about how L has been having bad lower back pain and that she did not feel like entertaining today. She sent her regrets and asked us to come another time.

On August 10th, A is going in for an operation on his heart. He told us that there is a blood clot. “Blood clots are very scary things,” he said, “because you could have one and not know it.” As A left the Senior Center he told us, “Goodbye, fellas. Keep up the good work. Hope to see ya again next time. If not, it means that I’ve crossed over to the other side.” Good luck, A. We’ll keep you in our prayers.

We also taught a lesson in what seems like the first time in a long time. We saw Sister D’s neighbor. Sister D does not know her very well, but if she has any questions, Sister D is right there to answer. The woman’s name is W. She’s from West Africa. She’s been in the US for almost three years. We taught her the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed it. We gave her a Book of Mormon and plan to check in on her sometime next week. It’s too early to say how committed she is to finding the truth. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Happy Thing for Day 130: Qdoba’s Mexican Grill. Qdoba’s make me happy for many reasons. For one thing, it is really close. It’s right across the street from our apartment complex. They also serve the best grilled chicken quesadilla I have ever eaten. Better than the other guys. (I’m talking to you Taco Bell; see Day 114). The best part is that Mormon missionaries eat there for free. The manager’s a member. So nice. And that’s what I love about Qdoba’s. Good, free food.
