I'm a homeschooling mother of five. Four graduates and one to go. I have been married to my dear husband for 31 years this October. WoW! I love talking about home schooling, essential oils, growing your own garden and other things related to health. I'm a city girl living in the country. I love both lives.

Day 126-The Ambush- August-01-2006

(Elder Pierce drew a cartoon of a happy missionary opening the front door. “Hello, August!” The next panel shows a fist with 100 degree heat written on the wrist coming through the door and punching Elder Pierce in the stomach. “Wha’ Happen?”)

Whew! It was a hot one today. It was over 100 degrees today without the heat index.

Happy Thing for Day 126: We went over to R’s house today. He’s doing okay. We talked about all kinds of things. We looked at some sketches. R’s a really good artist. All he needs is someone to jump-start his career.

R is house-sitting. The funny thing is that the house where he is staying is right down the street from T. We stopped in to see T. She hasn’t been to church in a while, but I’m making it my goal to get her to come back to church. She says that she wants to some big family crisis always seems to pop up to keep her from coming. We couldn’t stay long, but we told T we’d be back later this evening to see her.

On the way home tonight we went back by T’s house. It was awkward. T invited one of her neighbors over. T wanted to be a missionary and share her knowledge of the Restoration with her friend, but she went about it the wrong way. When she invited her neighbor over, it was not mentioned that the missionaries would be stopping by. When we showed up, we were not expecting any visitors either. We sat by T not knowing what to expect. T looked at her friend A and said, “May I be blunt?” “T, what are you doing?” I thought. T asked her friend, “A, have you ever considered Mormonism?” A declined and said that she was happy at her Baptist church. T pressed further. “Well, the Elders are right here and they can answer any questions you may have.” A said, “No, thank you anyways.” The rest of the meeting was awkward as all get out. We excused ourselves early so we could visit with T later when she was not trying to convert people against their will. I’ll give her an “A” for effort, though. So, yeah, busy day. Tomorrow is P-day.
