I'm a homeschooling mother of five. Four graduates and one to go. I have been married to my dear husband for 31 years this October. WoW! I love talking about home schooling, essential oils, growing your own garden and other things related to health. I'm a city girl living in the country. I love both lives.

Day 124-Dropping Like Flies- July 30, 2006

You didn’t cross your fingers, did you? (Sigh) Well, don’t feel too bad about it. I didn’t cross my fingers either. C wasn’t at church today. We plan on stopping by later in the week to see if she wants to go to the Visitor’s Center sometime with her. C’s so busy, though, so I don’t know when she could. We’ll keep working with her.

I also have an update on R. I found out today that he’s still in our area. He moved to the edge of the boundary, but he is still in this area. We’re going to go visit him for the first time in weeks. It was good to see him at church, and it will be great to see him at home. He is so funny. Well, our lunch break is over now. I’ll write more later.

Today has been a little depressing. No major catastrophe, but a few more investigators were officially dropped. One was M. {Day 54} The last time we met with him was way back with Elder Buttars. Elder Davis and Elder Pierce (my companion now) had never met him. We went by to see why we had not been able to get a hold of him. As we learned from the person who answered the door, M had apparently moved out of his parent’s home and they had moved, too. The woman we talked to was a friend of the family who was renting the place. She did not know where M moved to. (sigh) Bye, M. Thanks for the sweet prayer rug. I’ll treasure it always.

We also closed the chapter on J {Day 115}. He told us that he might be leaving soon. When we went by his townhouse today, someone else was living in it. So, J, M and V all moved back to Beijing. Our investigators are dropping like flies!

Later this evening we had a nice diner at Brother and Sister C’s home. He asked me how things were going with our investigators. It was a little depressing. I told him that we’d been dropping a lot recently. I also told him about S getting “anti-ed”. Brother C had gotten back from his mission and said that there was a lot of anti going on there. He served in Mexico. Brother C told me something about anti that I thought was pretty good. He said that he thinks people are placed in the path of anti because God wants them to make a choice. Hmmmm…I’d never thought of that. I mean I’ve talked about opposition in all things before, but you know it makes sense because that is our belief…there is always a choice. We believe that in the pre-earth existence we chose Heavenly Father’s plan. We believe that we chose to come to earth. It makes sense that we would be given another choice as to whether the church is true or not. Now, the church is true. Heavenly Father wants his children to find out that it’s true, but for them to know that it’s true, there’s got to be someone out there saying it’s false. That’s where the choice comes in. You’re given two options. Either it’s true or it’s not. If it wasn’t a choice, it would not be a part of God’s plan.

I’ll reflect on this more later. Maybe someday I’ll compile a book of “the best of Elder Logan Pierce’s journal”. That might be a lot of fun, but there’s no time to do that now. Tomorrow I’m going on exchanges with Elder Phelps, so that should be fun.
